Nitasha Ahuja
MSW, RSW

Clinic Director, Social Worker, Psychotherapist

I have a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Toronto and a Specialization in Addictions Studies from the Centre of Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers, and an active member of the Ontario Association of Social workers. I have over seventeen years of clinical experience in both hospital and community settings.

Apart from my experience in the psychiatry units, I also work as a Medical Social Worker. This has allowed me to have a deeper understanding of how a variety of medical conditions and illnesses can severely impact patients' and their families lives.

I am always participating in professional training to ensure my clients receive the latest and most renowned evidence-based treatment. Some examples are Dialectical Behaviour Therapy through Marsha Linehan's Behavioural Tech, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the Beck Institute, and the Gottman Method for couples therapy and Treating Trauma and Affairs by the Gottman Institute.

I speak four different languages: English, Hindi, Punjabi & Urdu.

During our sessions:

  • We will work together to get you to a point where depression, loneliness, and anxiety are no longer controlling factors in your life.

  • We will explore unconscious anxiety and defences within the session and uncover what’s beneath them––what you’ve been running from and protecting yourself from.

  • You will become free from the feeling that your love for yourself is contingent upon your success, performance, perfection, or external circumstances.

  • We will practice a new way of being. Over time and with practice, you’ll begin to carry that experience outside our sessions.
